Looking for solutions as to how you use ProjectLink to manage multiple projects and relevant resource allocation. Using MS Project as a potential link to a solution? Using MS Excel to gather ProjectLink info to rationalize resource allocation?
Eventual solution is to get a resource allocation chart so a PD manager can see where his resources are used across projects as well as make decisions on who is available for his next project getting underway.

Am aware that WNC8 uses aphelion for user & password management with LDAP as the protocol and Windchill10.0 onwards everything is based on - Windchill Directory Service.

We keep a dxf file as attachment to the drawing A. When doing revision the attachment of the A versionis copyed to the new B revision. If the process that should generate a new B-version dxf fails we end up with a wrong A version dxf file attached to the B version of the drawing. How can we automatically delete that attachment when doing revision ?

Issue
I am having issues printing to file (either word or pdf). Windchill is apparently saving a 0 kb file (.doc or .pdf) and when I try to open it with Adobe, it's no surprise that I get the following error: "Acrobat could not open 'FILE NAME.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF."
I have tried reinstalling the printer and then changing the 'Windchill Quality Solutions 10.0 Printer" Printer Properties (Ports Tab) by checking the port to "FILE" (it was previously set to "nul" after installation) with no results.
What am I missing?

I'm a new Windchill admin. During our setup, we created some attributes that we wanted required on parts and assemblies documents. The intention is that engineers will fill out these attributes for every design. The problem is that now those attributes are also required for templates (even though they are in a different Context), which defeats the purpose. If I fill in the attributes in the templates, then those attributes will probably be left with the default and not updated by the engineers.
How can I set those attributes to only be required in one context? Right now CAD Documents and WTparts have constraints for Enumerated Value List and Required. I can Add Conditions to these constraints and choose Context as the "Driver Attribute". I've been putting in the name of the Context where I want the attribute required, but this doesn't work. It ends up not being required anywhere, like the condition is never being met. Is the Context name not the right way to identify a Context?
I turned off the requirements to load our templates, then turned them back on. But now I have to repeat that procedure every time I make a new template or add a template. What is the right way to do this?

I want to remove primary content attribute for some users. The users should preferably have an empty field or no primary content section at all.
Is there only one admin that's set up at installation? No one in IT knows anything about this or has any kind of password. I tried the DN for the site admin and it didn't seem to work although I'm not sure I did the syntax correctly. Do admins setup through the site, org participant utility have any administration of the DS? Is there anyway to find out the admin info for this?
After completing the drawing, saved and uploaded to the windchill, I received the following:

We're in the final steps of migrating from Windchill 10.0 M050 to Windchill 11.0 M010 and I've found what appears to be a bug. I'm looking for someone else on 11.0 M010 to see if they can reproduce this issue.
If I take an existing workspace table display (customize view list: workspace listing) that has the "Version" column and either edit it to add / remove a column or copy it to create a new table display / view list for workspaces, the "version" column disappears. It's not just gone from the "selected columns" list, it's also not in the "available columns" list, so there is no way to add it back. The file version (rev.iteration) is a pretty key field to the user when working on Creo data managed by Windchill. Has anyone else seen this or can anyone else reproduce this (just don't try it on some standard, company-wide table display), or has the "version" field been replaced by some other term? I need to see if this is something wonky on our install, or a bug in 11.0 M010. I've opened a ticket with PTC on this as well.

Reason is that I would like to add deletion before the CAD document is loaded to the system.
Current Windchill behaviour is to throw an exception:wt.pom.UniquenessException.
If I can delete before I can load then there won't be any manual hacks required in the GUI

I am trying to determine what steps to take in order to map change task attributes (such engineering checker participant name, role name, date signed off) to another object (i.e signature document subtype from WTdocuments). Is this possible to do?
I followed with great interest the discussion of who was in the LiveWorx, complaining that the PTC's focus has moved on IoT products by putting a little into the background CAD and PLM products.
So what is your assessment of this year's Liveworx?
Personally I appreciate that PTC is always looking for the very latest technology and the fact that wants to bring these possibilities in its products.
What I like less is that sometimes PTC seems to behave like children in front of a new toy putting the old in a corner and using it very rarely.
I would just point out a couple of cases as an example.
A few weeks ago I ran a search in Windchill to find old iterations of very heavy CAD objects and then perform the cleaning of all the old except the last iterations.
I used this feature many times in 10.1 and I discovered, with big surprise, that it is disappeared in version 10.2.
What makes me angry is the fact that PTC has decided to re-introduce this feature only with version 11 M010 and not with a CPS of 10.2

This issue has been reported since 10.0 M030 and it is planned to be released with 11.0 M020 !!!!!
I think it's crazy because this BIG issue should have been resolved immediately and not be considered as an enhancement.
Not being able to see a WTPart in the search results when it has an alternate BOM, if there are multiple views of the same part, it's like as if a person was going to buy a car and someone told him "You can choose from many options: with the steering wheel, the gear shift, the wheels, the engine" but could not buy it with all the options simultaneously.

While calculating the FTA results the software program is multiplying 10^-6 to the cut set events for model FR/MTBF but not for constant probability. How to prevent this 10^-6 adding upto the final value? can anyone help me with this?

we are upgrading to Windchill 11 M010 from 10.2 M030.
But while Windchill 11 Installation, it is getting failed Failed with Error "Password validation failed. The password does not meet Windows policy requirements because it is not complex enough" although we are providing complex password. This error comes while new DB schema and user creation in Sql Server 2012.
When check PC knowledgebase, found that this issue is know and it is a PSI bug and SPR is filed for this issue. workaround is to disable the domain password policy but unfortunately it is not possible in our environment as domain controller person said no for disabling this policy.
PTC is saying they do not know when it will be fixed. But we had shared server upgrade rollout plan to all stake holders and now we are delayed by two weeks.
Is there any follow members who also found this issue while upgrading to Windchill 11 M010 with SQL or Oracle server?
Also is there any workaround or solution apart from disabling the password policy?

Simple thing but would be great to find a solution...
We have a very simple Windchill implementation to date. Only use for CAD data, and only use Promotion Requests currently.
The default collection for Promotion Requests automatically collects the Drawing Format (Creo; n/a for SolidWorks). It's a minor thing, but would like to find a way to exclude from collection. Anyone have a way to do this?

Has anyone else experienced the issue with the utility not building the part structure to match the cad structure (excluded parts)?
I had ALL WTparts created for cad parts already, then moved all assemblies need into a folder and ran the utility on that folder. This is what I get...have to manually rebuild.
Have to apologize, we are just in the testing phase of implementing WTparts.
