My requirement is to create a PDF for all the Drawings that are checked-in.
I've already tried Post Publish Delegate but this method creates an additional WTDocument for the PDF. However, I want the PDF to be attached as secondary content of the drawing itself instead of a new WTDocument.
Is it possible to do so, please help me with a solution.

I have added a new document type in the Type and Attribute Manager, but when I go to add a new document to Windchill, I do not get my new type in the drop down menu.
I am guessing the menu is built from a RBinfo file that I need to locate, edit for the new type and compile. I will look on Monday, but in the mean time, I am looking for confirmation that that is where I need to look for this last step in the modifications.

Recently a customer asked if it were possible to disable Owner association, and instead have the system default to using Contributing Image association between WTParts and CAD Documents. I figured there might be others interested so I thought I would post the solution, as the steps to achieve this desired behavior might not be entirely obvious. Before doing so, however, I have to give credit to my colleague, Jennifer Pierron, for providing me with these steps. Here we go…
In this case, the goal is disable Owner association for CAD assemblies and parts and display Contributing Image as the default association type in the Edit/Auto Associate UI. You configure a set of Site preferences to accomplish this task. I repeat - Site preferences. These preferences cannot be set on a per-user or organization level basis. They apply across your entire installation.
First, you need to establish whichattributes you want to pass from CAD Documents to WTPart via the Contributing Image association. This can be done by setting the Site preference EPM Service Preferences > Build Service Preferences > Contributing Image Attributes to * for all attributes, or you may specify individually using a list of attribute names. If you do not specify any attributes, then the system defaults to using an Image association instead of a Contributing Image association. In effect, the preference settings in the following figure enable Contributing Image associations in your system.
Next, configure the CAD Document types for which you do not want to build structure (disallow Owner associations). In this example we disallow the building of structure for Creo Parts and Assemblies. To accomplish this, we add CADCOMPONENT and CADASSEMBLY to the list of types for which building structure is excluded. This is done by editing the preference Operations > Auto Associate > Creo > Disallow Structure Links by Document Types as shown in the following figure.
As a final step, If you want to allow Auto-Associate to create parts, you need to set the value of the preference Operations > Auto Associate > Create New Part to Owner and Contributing Image as shown in the following figure. The default is to allow this for Owner association types only.
Once these preferences have been set, when you perform an Edit Association, you should be presented something similar to the following.

This is TechnicBots 8565, and currently we have been attempting to use PTC Windchill Workspace. Since we have multiple members working on the modeling of our robot, we decided to use windchill to be able to separate the robot into different assemblies.
However, we have run into a problem while using Windchill.
So what we have done so far is -
1. Person 1 uploads a custom part
2. Person 2 retrieves the part and opens it on another computer
3. Person 1 changes the part on his computer
4. Person 2 uses the update feature to update the part on his computer
So the first time we use this method, it will work like 70% of the time. However, if person 1 changes the part again, there is no way for the person 2 to successfully update the part on his computer anymore.
Is there a solution to this problem?

When we change the status of drawing, the worker doesn't publish the drawing. This was not the behavior before and we have to manually click on the thumbnail to create the representation. Could someone provide me inputs as to where to begin investigating the cause of this issue.
Hi all,
I import creo files in windchill thru creo.
After the Import and checkin the publishing/thumbnail is not working. What I need to do is to checkout the file and custom checkin and choose models and viewable so that the publishing/thumbnail worked.
The problem is the revision add even I didn’t change/modify anything just the custom checkin. Is there a way to import creo files in windchill and the publishing/thumbnail worked?

All users at my company that are using WC10.1 desktop integration keep getting this error even though office integration and file download mechanism is set correctly at the org level.
ATTENTION: Preferred File Download Mechanism Is Not Available.
One user has an additional issue - all the downloaded files are data.wcdti.txt instead of the office (word, excel, power point) file. The text file has all the meta data. For everyone else the download filel is the correct office document....
I dont understand why the desktop integration has so many error......

Everything is working fine. My pdf is shown as an attachment.
But I want to add the lifecycle state in the filename. This should not be that hard to do?
I guess I just need to modify the AfterEDRloader.java file but I dont know how exactly.

I am configuring the Custom CAD Worker following the PTC article ( https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS40919). As mentioned in the article, I have to create a command line utility or script that can take an AutoCAD DWG file as an input and create PDF as Output.
Did anyone has configured the Custom AutoCAD worker? Please share the steps to configure the utility or Script. There are third party tools for conversion but I don't want to use them.

Cad-documents: <File name>, <Organization ID>
Enigineered parts: <Number>, <Name>, <Organization ID>
Is it possible to change this? For example I want to change CAD-documents to <Number><Name>?

I saw this article come through from tech support recently: CS248141 (link is currently dead)
I pushed back on support and said, "This makes absolutely no sense. The CPS is installed on the Windchill (application) server. There is nothing to install on the database server..."
Here is the reply I received back: "This article was created with reference to a case where a customer has a mismatch between their Windchill version and database version. Their Windchill version was 10.2 M030 CPS 14 and they were using Database of the version 10.2 M030 CPS 19. With every new MOR updates or CPS updates changes are deployed in Windchill codes and Database as well. Hence, it’s always recommended to use Windchill and database of the supported versions."
I'm completely confused. How does one install a CPS on the database server??? For external database servers, the PSI can be used to create the database schema during initial installation, but even that is optional. (PTC provides instructions on how to do this manually.) Am I completely missing something? Are the critical patch sets supposed to be deployed on the database server, separate from installation on the application server? I was under the impression that installing a CPS from the application server did update the database.

I created the Distribution target to customize the ERP Connetor Customization, then i created a wtPart and associated that part with Created Distribution Target. now want to delete that part but throwing error 1. there are associated successfully or pending transaction 2. there are unresolved task.

I want to use the PDMLink created on date to automatically populate revision dates in our revision block. The problem is that if a new revision is created the date changes to the latest date. How can we make the date revision specific?
