Hello,

We have this problem.

After select Check-in of a file in our database a new windows appear.

In this windows you can select the file for the check in drugging it on the screen or selecting "Browse..." button.

In all case, after the selection or when you drop the file on the windows, the windows automatically close.

I've made some check, it doesn't dipend by Java version, IExplorer is the same for all version 9 32 Bit.

How I can solve?

Please help us if you have had the same issue.

I am new to FMEA. We are trying to explore how Windchill Creo and PDM Link can be integrated with FMEA (Windchill Qulaity Solutions). (Currently using the trial verion of QLM)

I browsed for some guides but the information provided there does not say anything about 'How to Integrate' Windchill PDMLink or Creo with QLM.

Is there a matrix on the PTC website that shows the version of Oracle used by each version of Intralink and of PDMLink?

I think there almost certainly is, but I am unable to find it.

I am interested because I believe we would have to go through each version of Oracle in order to migrate from Ilink 3.4 to PDMLink 10.0. I would like to know how many versions that is.

Hi,

I had installed PTC Windhchill 10.0 using the installer on my machine.

Oracle 11 g express edition is used for the installation.

The install was succesful, however, when I start windchill the methodserver aborts with an error of

"Nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: invalid name pattern: WCADMIN.INSTANCE_ROW"

Appreciate if any one could point out what could be going wrong.

I have a list of Roles in the CR team that I want the CR author to be able to add Participants into at the Submit CR task only when the CR is in Open state.

The roles are visible on the Process tab of the CR but the Members do not have the Add Participant icon!

I tried granting the Author of the CR in the Policy full control – at Open state. No luck.

I am currently trying to create an EPMDocument by using a robot. More specifically, I would like to use a robot to create a notebook, as it is called in Creo (or "layout", if you're using Pro Engineer Wildfire). Does anyone know how to do that? Unfortunately, I don't quite know how to use the classes EPMDocumentType, EPMAuthoringAppTyp and EPMDocSupType.

Can somebody please help me with that?

I need to write an application (sevice) that reads released BOMs from Windchill and synchronizes them with a Sage 100 ERP database.  I need the End Item and a list of all of the parts by level with the latest revision levels.  I can see the End Item and Parts in the WTPartMaster and WTPart tables but am having difficulty identifying the relationships between the tables that would allow me to navigate the BOM structure.  Does anyone have a select statement(s) with the appropriate links to generate a BOM struture using SQL?

Does anyone have a recommendation on the best way to put a copy of the PBO from a workflow into a local folder on the server?  We have Excel files that are being saved and routed in PDMLink (10.0), and at a certain point in the approval process we want to do some outside processing with the file.  Basically, the file would be placed into a folder on an FTP server, and then an ERP system would be updated with the location of the file.  This is all easy to do, except I don't know the best way to get a copy of the file into a local folder on the server.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

this works pretty well, but we have somes drawings whit 2 sheets, and in those cases, Windchill creates a PDf with two pages. What i want to know is if there's a way of creating only the first sheet in PDF.

If we only want some doc types created in a particular library – how do we manage that?

For example we have a DMR Library that we only want Production type documents in and another Library that we only want Regulatory type documents in.

I can Deny the Users Group the ability to Create for that Doc Type within the Policy Admin for that Library, but is there a better way than using deny?

Pre-Windchill, the descriptive name for our parts and assemblies was carried by a Pro/E parameter in the CAD file and Intralink used / displayed that model parameter.  For several models, that parameter contained special symbols such as the diameter symbol or degree symbol as part of the Pro/E parameter descriptive name - all worked well.

We now use the Name field in PDMLink to carry the descriptive name of the part (Housing, Winding...) and on migration, this field was populated with whatever was in the descriptive name parameter of the model.  However, we've now found the special characters were all converted to "?N?" and anything I can find on PTC's help site indicates PDMLink can't handle these special characters (see Document CS2549, CS6514 and SPR 2053730 ).  Has anyone else run into this?  How did you end up handling it?  Right now wer're left at doing a rename on these in Windchill to change "?N?" to something like "DIA". 

I've opened a call with PTC about this and the tech is currently investigating it.

I'm using the wrapper component, "dateInputComponent" to create date boxes on my forms.  I need to make the initial value of the date box an empty string or a null value.  I've been unable to do this because the component attribute "dateValue" requires a correct date.  It won't take "" or null or anything that is not a correct date value.  Does anyone know how to make this form field blank?

This is not the same thing as a date attribute on an object that can be set to blank using allClients.xml or the JCA describeProperty tags for JCA tables. This is using the wrappers tags.

We have this problem.

After select Check-in of a file in our database a new windows appear.

In this windows you can select the file for the check in drugging it on the screen or selecting "Browse..." button.

In all case, after the selection or when you drop the file on the windows, the windows automatically close.

I've made some check, it doesn't dipend by Java version, IExplorer is the same for all version 9 32 Bit.

How I can solve?

Please help us if you have had the same issue.

We are on Windchill 9.1M060 and  migrated from Oracle to MS SQL 2005 recently.

Now users are observing Poor performance in below actions if performed in pro/e embedded browser.

Add to Workspace,

Workspace Rendering,

Checkout,

undo check out

Issue is happening frequently now.

If around 150 components are already there in workspace and user tries to add 2 components to same workspace it takes around 7 mins.

Any suggetions over performance improvements?
