How to load extensive Enumerated List values?

On tech support case C13184101 just now, I'm advised by PTC that one can load .xml files with values but that there is no way from PTC to work in Excel and convert to proper .xml.  Does anyone have a way to convert a long list of values to xml and then load as the set of values of an enumerated attribute list?

I didn’t found any csv/spreadsheet which can be used to load Global Enumeration. While exporting the enumeration it exports other related information as well such as Organizer. I have attached a sample xml.

I am picking up an in-process project of configuring SSO with the software mentioned in the question, and as I dive in I wanted to put out a question to the user community here to see if anyone has implemented this within their environment, and if so, could provide any helpful details/information as I go forward.  Even if not the exact same software environment, but configuring SSO in general, that would be a significant help.

I need to update list values for the classification attribute which has around 700 - 1000.

 

the constraints list of are updated via Counterpart manually.

 

Is there a way to bulk load.

Start Creo and other applications with the nexiles starter

The nexiles starter can start any application from Creo, AutoCAD, CATIA, Solidworks, Mathcad or any self written apps.

The configuration files are stored in PDMLink as WTDocuments. They have the normal lifecycle status net and are revison controled.

WT-Parts Problem

Hello PTC Community ,

 

I`m working with the WT-Parts-Structure in Windchill. In our system the CAD-Documents are allready existing. I`m meanwhile able to create WT-Parts through "auto associate".

When I open the WT-Part-Structure through the function "show/hide" -> "CAD-Documents" all Referencedocuments appear e.g. the .prt-drawing and the .asm-drawing.

If I have for example a standard part and I create the associated WT-Part the Part-Structure also shows all the Assembly-Drawings where the standard part is used.

But I only want to see the .prt and the .drw-model of the standard part.

 

Are there any settings or filter options that I can use? Or is there already a mistake in creating the WT-Parts?

problem with OOB ESI configuration is sending un-released child parts with Assy

Hi everyone,

We are implementing ESI to send the wtpart information to Oracle.

Its all working great so far with the exception of one problem.

 

When a revised version of a  Assembly wtpart is sent to Oracle (ERP) on the workflow, the ESI code is also sending all the child parts to Oracle at whatever version they are at. This is fine if all the child parts are also Released on the workflow (change object) together. The problem is that if at anytime a child part is revised from Released to In Work to the next Version then that un-official version would also be sent to Oracle (for ESI code).

 

Assembly Ver. B "In Work" > Ver. B "Released = sent to Oracle

Part1 Ver. B "Released = sent to Oracle (ignored as it already was published when Released)

Part2 Ver.C "In Work" = sent to Oracle when Assembly is sent.

 

Does anyone know if there is a setting that can be configured to only:

Send the wtparts on the workflow to Oracle

Send only the official "Released" state parts to Oracle (Assembly and all child parts at Released).

Safe way to remove Windchill Business Report before rehost and upgrade

Hi,

 

We have a Windchill 10.2 M010 CPS 04 with Windchill Business Report installed and configured in a separeted server, along with SQL server on a third server.

 

Which is the best way to remove all the references to Cognos on this installation and shutdown this server to restore it on a new server then upgrade to Windchill 11 (or 10.2 M030) without cognos?

Change Notice Attachments

So, we just completed our update to 10.2 and everyone is getting back into the swing of things.

 

One item I'm having trouble fixing is how to add an attachment to a Change Notice (or a Change Task). In 10.1 there was a little java drag and drop icon in the are circled. It's missing in 10.2 even with the compatible java version (8u25+).

 

I tried a few searches in Knowledge base with no success.

 

Can anyone spare a clue and let me know what I'm missing here?

In the Cad Document to Part Compare I have a question to what this screen is telling me.  What is an "Excluded" build status?

 

 

In actual structure of the WTPart has nothing shown in the structure view.

Remove the product from recently add or from browse product icon ?

Hello Everyone,

I want to remove the product (do not want to delete the product from windchill) from the recently added (visited) list and Product icon. When i search for products and click on the specific product, that product can be seen under recently visited tab and under product option icon. i want to remove from that place. i want to search the product every time and click on that product link.

Reply to comment in Discussion not working

My company recently upgraded to Release: 10.2 M030-CPS14 in Windchill and the REPLY TO COMMENT in the Process tab under discussion is now greyed out.  All users will right-click to get that function, but it no longer works.  I'm assuming it's a setting, but I cannot get our local Windchill support to figure it out.

 

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

View and Print Only Group

New for 10.x is the site-level View and Print Only Group. This Group has one ACL against it at Site level- it denies all actions except Read and Download. At Site, License Reporting, there is a tab for this group.


We recently attempted to convert fromusing our "Viewers" Group at Org level to this OTB Site level group. We just backed out of doing this, pending more understanding.


At this point, from the info page of EVERY user, that usershows thatthey are part of the View and Print Only Group, even though only about 1/4 of users were added to it. You can edit any user and remove the View and Print Only Group. On refresh it comes back. We tried every cache deletion, recompute, etc. It's very sticky. If you go to the info page of the View and Print Only Group and list the users, it correctly only displays the users that we added there.


We cannot figure out how to get all the users to not list that they are part of this group on their info pages.


Wondering if anyone has seen this and figure it out.


Tech support case C11856126 is pending. Seems like a major bug to us.

Exporting Windchill Structure Filters

Did anyone try to export the filters that you can create for a Structure in windchill 10.2?

 

Where are they stored and how can they be exported and imported?

 

As I see Windchill doesn't offer an Export option.

Can I Install AdobeLiveCycle on the same server machine of WIndchil?

 

The Adobe Documentation doesn't recomended this option, but i talked with PTC specialist he doesn't see any problem.

The PTC's virtual Machine came both in the same server.

Someone has any experience with this?

Registering server taking 3 minutes after a long pause from publishing

We are on Windchill 10.2 m030 CPS09.  This last weekend we switched out our publishing machine.  If there hasn't been a publish job in 15+ minutes and one runs, it is taking 3 minutes to register the server.  There is nothing in the logs that I can find.  It also happened with the first job of the morning when the workers were off.  We did go from one worker to two workers.  The first worker is the one that always catches at the registering server.  I can submit another job and worker 2 will register right away and work quickly.  Also if I submit another job within the allotted time, it will register right away.  I have turned off the "sleep" functionality of the network card on the worker.  The one thing that I do not know if it is a factor somewhere is that worker 1 and the old worker were configured to the same port from the Worker Agent.  Once Worker 1 has been connected, it is perfectly fine until it hits a certain amount of down time.  I am not shutting down the workers after an idle period.  Any insight on this would be much appreciated.

Designated Attribute issue

I tried to designate some creo paramerets to windchill as product wise. I created CAD Document sub types for Product wise and crated all required attributes in Global Attributes in Type and Attribute Manager.

 

After that when i try to upload to Windchill its giving warning like

Incoming Attributes XXXXXXXX ignored as they not part of type definition.

 

But i didn't change any preference for Upload in Preference Management.

Now am into the Migration process because of this issue am struggling.
