I've removed Windchill existing user normaly. But, still that user is existing in products context. I've checked in LDAP, where no such user was observed.
But, from SQL Server, by executing a query, I've found that user from WTUser table.
I need your help for permanently remove that user.

How to get a variable dropdown list(Attributes like Plant location, some attributes) inside workflow task page? further to it, based on selected attribute value it should route to respective users.
Does it requires to customize the Work flow JSP template?, if yes kindly provide the code and source code location(path).
When a user logs in, there is a record added to the database in the AUDITRECORD table. I assume some java code is executed when a user logs in, to put that record in the database.
I was thinking about leveraging this API to do some additional things, such as check the user's preferred file server (their vaulting preference). I could add additional code to this java class do what I desire. But first I need to determine what API is triggered during the login.
Anyway have ideas of which API(s) are triggered during user login?
With Multi Org we can achieve separate Business processes, ACLs, Objects etc. What issues we might face in future?
I know its more inclined towards Business Need but what design consideration should be taken care before making a decision.

I need an urgent help. In Policy Administrator page while trying to fix something, I made a mistake and the WTObject for the Administrators group got a Deny Access instead of Full Control.
Hence because of this Im unable to perform any activity on my system.
Is there any way I can revert back and update the policy to Full Control on the Administrators group?

I want to fetch a Item List from Library context, which items are now used in different Product/Context in Windchill.
example,
1. Part A - Created in Stranded Library, now used in "TestASM A" which is present in context "TESTPRODUCT".
How i can get this Part A - Its Orignal Context i.e. Stranded Library, now used in "TestASM A" and its respective context i.e. "TESTPRODUCT".
how i can achive this through QML/query/or java code.
Any help will be great.

I love both tools PDMLink and Creo. The basic interface works. But by now I would expect some real new features from PTC. I still can't belief why these two major programs of PTC can't get a better and deeper interface. The following examples show my considerations:
This includes that if a new CAD-Document is being created in Creo by the File->New Dialog, all the attributes are automatically being pulled from PDM. So the Material, the values of enumerations etc. are being managed in one single system.

Revising
If an engineer revises the CAD-Document there is no help to collect the Drawing or the WTPart. Instead of the Creo Dialog it should show the PDMLink collector dialog. Otherwise the user needs to revise the WTPart by itself.
Also it should be possible to revise CAD-Documents only if the user connects it directly to a change task. Otherwise he needs to do it before or afterwards. The dialog should show all the open change tasks like on the user homepage.

It should be possible to transfer the length to the BOM insted only the quantity "each". Most smaller companies don't have a WTPart for each cable. They have a single WTPart for the complete cable reel and will cut them for each length by theme self.

I haven't yeat created a new idea because there are already many around. What are your thought's about that? Are you happy with the current compilation?
Since Creo and PDMLink are the "Main Products" of PTC, I would really expect more and a further development of these two products.
For me, the development of these two products are still far away from my expectations. Since three years I can't really tell, what new features are being showed. I still belief the development is being done by two different teams which don't talk with each other...

In Windchill 10.2 a lot of effort has been made to enhance and simplify the user experience when working with WTDocuments from your Microsoft Windows Desktop.
In this blog I will show you some of the enhancements and how they can significantly simplify your interaction with documents stored in your company’s Windchill system.
The PTC Windchill Desktop Integration plugin adds the Windchill Documents system folder to your local environment. You can you use that Windows Explorer Integration to find, open, access and download Windchill documents without the need to open the Windchill web application in a browser.
This will give you a variety of ways to easily access and interact with documents just like they had been stored on your local system:
But I do not want to miss the (in my opinion) most natural way of interacting with documents in Windows – Drag and Drop.
As working with the Explorer Integration should just feel natural, Drag and Drop capabilities have been integrated and with Windchill 10.2 M010 these have even been enhanced.
Dragging a document file from your local system to a context folder under the Windchill Documents node will trigger one of the following actions (depending on the area where you drop the document):
The other direction is supported as well:
Grabbing a document from a Windchill context folder and dragging it to your local system or another Windchill context will trigger corresponding actions depending if modifier keys (Shift and / or Ctrl) are applying and the target the document is dropped (possible actions are copy, move, create shortcut…).
Starting with Windchill 10.2 F000, the right-click menu in Windows Explorer includes a wider range of Windchill actions. While in previous releases only actions such as Open and View Information were available, this expanded to the most commonly used actions on the Windchill web application (even multiselect for Check in, Set State… have been implemented in 10.2 M030).
The right mouse button menu is context sensitive and the actions availability will change depending on the object you open it on. Additional restrictions like access permissions, preferences and so on can have impact on the availability of actions.
My personal highlight is the introduction of the Compare Document functionality in the Windows Explorer integration with Windchill 10.2 F000.
Starting Windchill 10.2 F000 (and enhanced in 10.2 M010) the Desktop integration added compare capabilities. But different to the compare functionality available in the Windchill web application this will concentrate less on comparing metadata but more on comparing the content of the documents.
Out of the box Windchill supports Microsoft Word 2007 and 2010 files and had been extended to Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint in Windchill 10.2 M010 (dedicated support matrix below).

Additional file compare tools can be registered based on the file extension in the Windchill Desktop Integration Configuration menu.
There are two different compare actions available:
This will allow you to compare the file content of two different versions of the same document (see screenshot)
This will allow you to compare the content of two different objects, which need to be of the same file type.

I have "dm_overwrite_contents_on_update" set to "yes", and an overwrite in Intralink worked just fine, every time......yet now in W/C update doesn't actually do anything? Huh?
Before rendering the tree table, condition is provided to check the value of Radio button from NmCommandBean. Then tree table is rendered correctly in
collapsed mode as per setting on next page in wizard. Then I am trying to expand it by clicking on “+” icon.
After that again focus goes to tree table builder code where NmCommandBean is null. And the expansion goes in infinte loop.
Is there any way to solve this?

The Windchill CAD Data Management and UX teams are working towards improving the User Experience, and getting customer import is vital to that import. We know that committing time to take part in UX tests or even customer visits is not always easy to do, so we are investigating other ways to gather information with minimum customer effort.
This diary study is one of those means. We have determined the list of most common PDM actions for CAD users managing their data in Windchill. We have validated that list at TC's and through qualitative customer interviews, but we would like to gather some quantitative data on those common actions using a diary study.
This diary study requires that you answer the same questions over a period of 2 weeks about your most common PDM actions when working with CAD data. Filling out the survey will only a few minutes after the first time.
The only requirements are:

I am using PTC Creo 2.0 with windchill integration. But every time opening big assembly it pop up below dialog box. Many times my team members pressed OK & all assemblies are revised and checked out & creates a lots of trouble for me. I want to disable Revise and Check out now option. Please do needful
I have an FTA tree with a repeated "undeveloped event". After researching and entering the correct failure rate, I would like to change all instances to "Basic Event", however, the Gate/Event Type column is grayed out.

Does anyone have a document that lists the Oracle tables and other items in Oracle that Windchill uses with a description of what each record in the table is used for?
I know it would not be a small document as there are over 900 tables in PDMLink and they vary in size.
If someone has already done this, it save others from having to do the same work again.
If the number of tables changes with different versions, that would be useful information, too.
I am on Windchill/PDMLink 10.0m050 and am looking at 10.2m030.
