Hi, I am new to Windchill, and when i created a document , it asked to grant or deny unKnowingly i clicked on deny, so that , next time onwards i am unable to create document, it shows error occured contact administrator, i m unable to ciew certain site->Utilities.

Create new JSP Site/Link in every CAD Parts & get Promotion Request Approvers
Hello Guys,
At first i want thank everyone for his effort and answers to help me with that kind of "problem".
First Point: What i want to generate is a new "Button/Link" under the "Tab History" in every CAD Part (see screenshot1). Do you have any idea how i can generate that kind of button and link it to the information from the second point?
Second Point: On that JSP should be shown the Routing/Process information from the last Promotion Request (see screenshot2) . Do you have any clue how i can get that Routing/Process information from the last Promotion Request into every CAD Part Page?

How to add a new menu item with link to url under global Help menu?
All,
Am not a strong developer yet, but your help in this would make me to take a step towards that.
What do I need to do if I want to add a new menu item with link to a url under the Global Help menu that appears at top right section of standard Windchill PDMLink header?

I need to add an item just below "About Accessibility" on clicking which should open a new internet window launching the url.

Config file problems
To all you Windchill users:
We are on Windchill 10.0 M030, Creo 1.0 M050.
I recently updated the config file for all users (all are stored locally on each users C drive). The previous config file worked fine for all users.
The new config file is basically the same, with a few new options. For one of our users, after Creo startup, Creo will hang indefinitely (after user is prompted for the Windchill user/pass). This user is running on Windows 7, though the rest of the users also use either Windows 7 or Vista with no issues.
I can circumvent this problem by removing all the following config options that have the file path starting with wtpub://Windchill… :

Promotion Request - approved email?
Hello all,
I have been trying to use the Promotion Request system in Windchill. We are on Windchill 10 M30...
I have 2 basic questions:
1) Once a file (.prt or .drw, etc..) has been promoted, how can you set the system to send an email to the originating requester saying the file(s) have been promoted?
2) Once a file (.prt or .drw, etc..) has been promoted, how can you set the system to send an email to the other approvers saying the files have been promoted and they don't need to act?
I currently have the system set so only 1 person needs to approve the promotion, even though multiple people have been chosen as approvers.

Updating oracle hostname
Hi Fellow Windchillers,
As a test installation have Windchill 10.1 M030 successfully running on a server(say- wncserver) with Oracle11g on the same machine. We have another machine (with a different hostname- say oracleserver) which has Oracle11g installed on it. Want to update the existing Windchill installation such that the - wncserver connects to the new oracleserver. Have tried using the PTC user manuals and they suggest steps which involve restarting the installation process and then it will prompt user for the new oracleserver details.
Please let me know if this is the only way or the new oracle connection can be achieved by updating wt.properties and/or db.properties or any similar updations.

Promotion Request Workflow Activity Customization
Hi All,
I want to customize PDMLink's Promotion Request Workflow. If the creator chose 3 partipants during promotion process, I want the workflow to wait for the Approvers to complete their activities, but if any of them rejects their task, I want the process to end itself and comeback to the original lifecycle state.
Current workflow process allows only 'All' or 'Any' for the participants. I'm currently working with 'All' and it works fine for 'Approve' but even if any participant rejects, it will wait for others to complete their tasks. I don't want this. I want to end the process as soon as someone Rejects the task.
I need 'All' for Approve and 'Any' for Reject.
What custom code is required which I need to write in this Workflow to get it done?

EBOM creation from a CAD BOM
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have a best practice on how to efficiently create a matching WTPart EBOM from an existing CAD ASSEMBLY BOM
in Windchill 10.1?
I'm basically looking for the easiest and fastest way to achieve this. I also would like it to collect all associated drawings as well.
As an FYI we would also use the same part number and descriptor as well from the CAD part number so we would not have to renumber
anything etc.

Get Part Information where i am on for JSP Site

i created a customized subtab with a link to a new created JSP Site. On that page i want to show some additional informations which i get from the class which i have written for that actions. It works fine for simple return functions. But now i want to pass the Part to the functions, but how do i get the WTPart Information from the current Part Page where i am on?

Windchill connected to MS Active Directory Load balanced server pair
When we first rolled out Windchill late last year we connected it to our MS Active Directory system for authentication. Worked great. At the time the AD system was two servers, call them AD1 and AD2, acting in failover mode. Windchill talked to AD1. At one point AD1 failed, so AD2 took over and I had to repoint Windchill to AD2- still fine. Now they AD system has been reconfigured to be load balanced and failover. So AD1 and AD2 are constantly sharing the load and if one dies, the other takes on 100% of the work. Since that change, and it's purely correlation in timing that has me speculating there may be a cause - effect relationship, the time it takes for Windchill to present a login when starting Pro/E has gotten much longer. It was nearly instant, now it takes 20-30 seconds for some users and I'm getting complaints. Has anyone else seen anything like this? And, is there any way to designate Windchill so it knows there are two AD servers working in parallel AND that if one doesn't respond to look for the other one? PTC's page only indicates "contact PTC Global Services" for that kind of configuration.

Retarget Principals
Hi All,
We are in the Process to Migrating the iPlanet LDAP to AD.
As we unplugged the old (iPlanet) adapter the users are rendered disconnected. [These are visible in the Maintenance tab in Principal Administration menu].
Now, the disconnected principals need to be retargeted.
The user to be retargeted also have groupmembership in Local DS (Windchill DS) groups.
The disconnected users are numerous (~5000) so doing manually is not an options.
Option Tried:
DB UPDATE (Tables: RemoteobjectID, RemoteobjectInfo, WTUSER)
Issue:
The Windchill DS doesn’t update.
I believe as through OOTB (Principla Administration-> Maintaiance ->Select Disconnect User -> Retarget) we could retarget the users successfully (it also updates the Windchill DS) the options below would be a preferred one:
- Windchill API probabl e -> API fixuid
- InfoEngine Tasks
Any Sample code would be applicable.

Help in adding action to “Model Structure Report” and “Family Table”
Hi,
I have created URLActionDelegate for my action and have code (Link) to be added in .xml file
If i add in "NavigationAndAction.xml" under any of the Navigation_Tree it does not gets rendered in
“Model Structure Report” and “Family Table”. But i am able to show in "Product Structure" which belong
to WTPart. As “Model Structure Report” and “Family Table” belongs to EPMDocument. In which .xml i should
add an entry ro get action displayed in “Model Structure Report” and “Family Table” ?
And as it is a template processed one it is difficult in finding definitions of actions.
